Can you believe that after this post, there is only one more until I meet my goal of 366 days of art in 2024. Don’t fret though- I plan on continuing posting and creating art into 2025 and beyond. This experience has been so positive for my creative practice and I feel that I am a much better artist today than I was a year ago. It also feels good to see my blog stats and know that my art is being seen around the world. I can’t thank you enough for sharing this journey with me.

Tonight I had the idea to draw a woman dancing to the music in her headphones. This is roughly based on my daughter, but as she is up north with friends I couldn’t have her pose for me so I used my imagination a bit. I used the Derwent tinted charcoal pencils that came in the January Sketchbox that was delivered today. I really wanted to capture the energy of the music and I think it worked very close to what I imagined- but what truly impressed me was when I digitized it using my filtered light protocol. It was almost exactly what I had envisioned when starting out.
Do you like the original sketch or the digitally altered version best?
