This month’s inspirational theme for my art club is self-portraits, so for this morning’s Zoom with June I played around with some silly versions of a self portrait. The first was myself as a sleepy pear. I have really been loving sculpting these in clay at the studio, so it was the first thing to pop into my mind.

Since I still had plenty of time in the zoom after finishing the pear portrait, I tried a winter inspired self portrait. I took a selfie to get my facial expressions and only after I had painted in the mouth did I realize my expression is so bad. I am always concentrating on getting my head centered that I forget to smile. Lol.
I spent a good amount of time today working on a new idea for a script. I have an outline and some of the story beats down and started on character development. I want to start writing a script for each genre for practice. I also submitted an entry for the Lawrence Street Gallery’s Body Eclectic show. My Antonio sculpture and my Dancing girl in the reflected light. I’ll find out in a couple weeks if either piece is accepted.
Do you have any suggestions for me to do for my next self portrait?
