Today was a very busy day with me moving from one creative activity to the next. I started the day at our weekly poetry critique session. Two of the poems I presented were inspired by art I entered into Anton’s Sky & Space show. There were already quite a few pieces already dropped off when I arrived. It looks like it will be another tough show to get into.

I find writing poetry inspired by my art makes it significantly easier to decide on the title l want to use for a given piece. Both of yesterday’s pieces share a title with a poem I composed earlier this week/day.
After Anton it was time to get ready for my first cello lesson. While I was waiting for the paperwork for my instrument rental, I got the email that I wasn’t accepted into the Michigan Annual show. I was so excited to start my cello lesson that I didn’t even feel to badly about the rejection. I will now spend the week driving my family crazy practicing the same two notes repeatedly. So far I love the cello and can’t wait for my next lesson.

I picked up dinner from the gluten free Colombian restaurant that is in the area of the music class. It was so amazing- I wolfed my portion down before heading to the pottery studio. I started off making a new pear person. then using the clay I scooped out from the pear I was able to sculpt a snail, a petit tea cup, and a tiny owl figurine.
I feel as if I’ve accomplished quite a bit this day- what is your proudest accomplishment today?
