It felt great not to have any deadlines looming today. I went to bed early last night and even took a nap this morning. I think I may have caught up on the lost sleep from working on the Kresge application at night when the house was quiet. I was able to get a few things done around the house before my oil change appointment. I took a pen and paper pad with me so I sketched a pear while waiting. I was having trouble focusing with the 20 tvs on in the waiting area. I finally remembered that I had my AirPods in my pocket so I put them in and listened to cello music until my car was ready.

When I got home I had time for a quick game of chess with my son. As a kid I always wanted to play chess, but no one would play with me. I grew a person who loves to play games and now he is teaching me to play. How cool is that! My cat decided to join in on our game, posing for a picture for me. I did better than I thought I would, but my son still beat me. It’ll be a while before I will be able to best him, I reckon.
