Heart in Filtered Light, Jacquelyn Block

Today was a good day with another enjoyable Artist2Artist session at the GPAA. I enjoy hearing more details about my fellow artists and their piece in the show as well as other things they work on. As a storyteller myself, I often make up stories for the art I view, but it’s wonderful to hear the artists own story.

In the evening I played a pirate video game with my sons and boy, did I not know what I was getting myself into. The simple mission I thought we were tackling, turned into an hours long campaign. The boss battle at the end took us nearly an hour and a half. But we were successful before my ultimatum timer went off so at least they went to bed without a major disappointment.

So I was very thankful I had dabbled with these two reflected light pieces after I got home from the War Memorial and before I started playing the video game. While they both are very different from each other, I like them each for what they are.

Tomorrow is the opening reception for the Body Eclectic show in Ferndale at the Lawrence Street Gallery and I’m excited to go. This is my first piece in one of their group shows. On that note I really need to get to bed. I’m tempted to close my eyes for ‘just a minute’ and I’m sure you know how that ends.

Are you going to any art openings this month?
