Happy Valentine’s Day! I spent my zoom time today making mini valentine cards for my family. It’s fun to play around with different things.

I took inspiration from the cute little birdies she had been making lately. I did a Koi card last year too, but this time I had a pair swimming in what resembles a heart. And I made a cute hedgehog for my daughter as her friend has a hedgehog and they are very cute.
After zoom we went to pottery as our regular Wednesday evening plans were derailed by the snowstorm. I glazed a sleepy pear and a pinchpot bowl, before continuing with my orchids Ibstarted last class. Amazingly, it had stayed intact over the week although I busted it when I removed the supports. I spent hours today working on it- attempting to defy gravity. I finally managed to get it stable enough to carry across to the shelf.

I’m quite happy with how it looks- now it just needs to stay together with two trips through the kiln. I am eager to see how it changes throughout this process. I especially thought that my big orchid flower was pretty cool.
What is the most delicate thing you have made?
