I feel like I’ve totally neglected my obligatory pear in a new medium piece, so tonight I decided to remedy that. I opted for a bold abstract pear which I have on a blue plate. I really love how it pops with color. I may include this in my Blues show submission.

I am really enjoying the pastels. They take me back to my childhood when I used to make cards drawing with crayons on sandpaper. I loved the vibrancy and texture then and still do now.

I feel like I may have found a new favorite medium. Watercolor is my usual go to, but I just love the vibrancy I am getting without having to wait for my paint to dry.

For me it is pears, but what is your must-paint subject in any new medium you are using?
