Not a Pear, Jacquelyn Block

This morning I had a short zoom, since my youngest had a half day, and I napped through the start of the session, but I was able to complete my experiment with inktense paint on canvas. I didn’t need to add a watercolor ground or anything to get vibrant colors on the canvas.

After the zoom I went straight to the Clay studio where my sleepy mushroom, two sleepy pears and my orchid sculpture were ready to bring home. My woman figure survived the bisque fire, and I opted to leave her unglazed so she is ready for the final firing. I then experimented with some egg dish designs and lastly, made a mermaid inspired face hanging.

After a break for pickle pizza for pi day dinner, I went to the Scarab Club for the Gilda Snowden Memorial show opening. I was in this show last year, but let the deadline pass by this year. There are so many great pieces in this year’s show. If you are in the Detroit area, you’ll definitely want to check it out!

What have you filled your day with today?
