Today’s painting I squoze in before heading downtown with my sister to Little Caesar’s Arena. I figured I’d be getting home late and would be tired. I am grateful for past me looking out for now me. I had a terrific time tonight. We attended the PWHL game between the Minnesota Frost and the New York Sirens. It was a great game and so fun to see these amazing women play. And I think the energy from the crowd rivaled the energy from the ice. I really hope that Detroit gets a PWHL team of our own. It’s only fitting for a city known as ‘Hockeytown.’

We set a record for the most attended game for the takeover tour in the US. Hopefully that’ll increase our chances. The stands were filled with girls and women wearing their team jerseys. It was wonderful seeing so many girls playing hockey. When I was young there weren’t so many options for girls sports. I played softball, and that was it until middle school for basketball. I would have loved playing hockey and soccer growing up.
Have you ever attended a women’s professional sporting event?
