Today I had a good but long day and decided to experiment with combining the inktense with pastels and see how it works. I started by just doodling shapes onto the paper in grey and then adding colors. Something of a landscape was coming about so I went with that and added pastel scribbles on top. then just wet everything with a brush and moved the colors around. I used a lot of water so I may decide to go back once it is dry to add more details, but the pastel moves easily with the water.

It was a fun process and I am not attached to the painting so I don’t mind pushing my experimentation a little bit, perhaps to the point of ruining the painting.
