Sunflower greetings , Jacquelyn Block

Last week I made some cards which I brought to Lawrence Street Gallery Saturday during my shift. I sold one of them the next day at the opening reception along with a tiny pear. Thursday I sold another of my cards so I decided to spend this morning’s zoom making more. I knew I wanted to replace the sunflower card with another sunflower design. I have so many sunflower photos from the community garden and around town to choose from. I decided since I sell them at 5 dollars each I should work on producing them a bit faster. I set a goal of six cards in the two hour zoom- Twenty minutes each. I had to leave early and finish up when o got back home from my daughter’s appointment, so I may have spent a little more than two hours, but I did finish all six cards.

I like the floral card designs and goodness knows I’ll never run out of photos to use for reference. It’s still a bit early to really learn what will be good sellers. But it’s fun to make them and I’ll always use them myself if they don’t sell.

It’s fun selling my art. I sold two pieces last month and my check came today. I made more than my rent so month one is a success. Here’s to continued momentum!

Sunflowers in filtered light, Jacquelyn Block

This week has been crazy busy for me so I took a break from daily posting but I have continued working on art throughout the week. I hope to get back to my usual schedule soon.

What has been filling your calendar this week?
