Tonight’s painting provided me with an interesting challenge. My watercolor palettes and brushes were in my bedroom where my husband was sleeping. I searched around and found a cigar box of old tubes in random colors from an estate sale and I used a cheap paintbrush from the dollar store that I keep in the craft bin. With these I was able to complete my day’s painting. It doesn’t look quite like I was going for, but not bad for my improvisation on supplies. I am just painting these on greeting cards, so they don’t need to be masterpieces- although I do spend a couple hours on something I sell for 5 bucks. I keep telling myself to just do a quick painting, but I don’t listen to myself very well.
In what art practice do you engage that is not very cost effective or efficient?
