“Gound-level Observations,” Pastel, Jacquelyn Block

Wow! It’s been a hot minute since my last update. I may not be posting daily, but I have been busy creating, and showing my art, as well as all the networking and socializing. My time at Lawrence Street Gallery is going well, I’ve sold a few larger pieces and lots of tiny pears!

I have enjoyed continuing my explorations in soft pastels. The painting above was completed last night. I painted it from a photograph I took over Labor Day weekend in Oscoda.

Juror Adam Strange presented the First Place award to Jacquelyn Block for Submerged in the GPAA’s Mindblowing exhibition.

I also can share that one of my ceramic masks, “Submerged” was awarded Best in Show at the GPAA’s Mindblowing exhibition. As my prize I’ll be having a solo show sometime next year. That will be my first solo show, so I am very excited.

Right now I’m currently working on my entries for several upcoming shows- what have you been working towards lately?
