Today was a busy day in a busy week and I just keep hopping along from one thing to the next. It is both exhausting and exhilarating. I am really excited to be a member of the Lawrence Street Gallery. All the artists that I’ve met so far are as interesting as they are talented. I have always felt very different and don’t fit in to social groups well at all, but in my art groups I feel like I belong.
So after hopping along today I was inspired to make a pastel painting of a leaping frog. I wanted to convey the motion of the jump, and was less concerned about realism. I have a few not great photos of frogs from the nature center so my frog is filled in with much imagination. But for a non-biologist it doesn’t look bad. I also saw a few seconds of a reel demoing painting water drops, so I figured I’d add a couple for practice on the lily pad.
Now that we are in March, it feels like February went by in a blur; to you, did February feel long or short this year?
